Beaches, sunny weather & palm trees
Noma Village is located in the southwest of Portugal, in the ancient maritime town of Lagos. More than 300 sunny days per year and mild temperatures during winter make this area an ideal spot the whole year round. Lagos is a charming little town that offers everything one could ask for. Various beautiful beaches, stunning rock formations, and a vivid old town to call just a few. Especially in the side season when the tourists are gone, this area attracts a really great bunch of people. A lot of social events, spiritual practices and Digital Nomad MeetUps are happening in these times. Lagos can be considered an emerging, but still hidden gem in the Nomad Community. There is an endless hiking trail along the coastline, surfing beaches just a 10 min walk from our place (and even more available with a car), kitesurfing, diving, beach volleyball + frisbee, rock climbing etc.
Noma Village is located in a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. Within a 10 min walk, you reach the nearest beaches, and it takes you 20 min to get to the old town centre. If you're not in the mood for walking, Ubers are quite cheap. Also, the city bus is an affordable way to get around. A big supermarket (Intermarche) is just a kilometre away (12 min walk). Moreover, you'll find stores of the chains Aldi, Lidl, Pingo Doce & Continente (25 min walk).
The closest airports are Lisbon & Faro. From both, you can take the train or bus to get to Lagos (3,5h from Lisbon, ~1-2h from Faro).
I put together a little collection of dreamy pictures that I've taken during my time in Lagos.
